Support Staff - Employment Specialist

As a Workplace Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in helping employees in organisations across south Wales overcome barriers and achieve success in their workplace.

Job Title: Workplace Support Worker

Work hours: 37.5 per week

Annual Pay: £25000

Holiday Entitlement: 25 days plus bank holidays and your birthday off


Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with employees to understand their specific challenges and barriers in the workplace.
  • Provide compassionate and confidential support to employees facing difficulties related to their health conditions, disabilities, or personal circumstances.
  • Collaborate with HR departments and managers to develop personalised strategies and accommodations that promote employee success and well-being.
  • Assist employees in accessing relevant resources, services, and support networks both within the organisation and externally.
  • Advocate for employees' needs and ensure their voices are heard and respected in the workplace.
  • Facilitate workshops and training sessions to promote diversity, inclusion, and awareness among employees and management.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of employee interactions, progress, and outcomes.
  • Demonstrate empathy, professionalism, and respect while working with employees from diverse backgrounds.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a workplace support role, human resources, or employee assistance program is preferred, but not essential.
  • Empathetic and patient approach with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A genuine interest in supporting employees to overcome challenges and achieve success in their workplace.
  • Understanding of workplace accommodations, disability awareness, and inclusive practices is a plus, but not essential.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive issues with discretion and professionalism.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the capacity to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Knowledge of relevant employment laws and regulations related to employee accommodations is beneficial.
  • Flexibility to adapt to the diverse needs of employees and the dynamic nature of the role.
